Portion control is everything, my friends. Case in point:

I have in front of me SnackWells Creme Sandwich cookies (2 pack) and Oreos  (6 pack).

My tummy said to eat the Oreos while my waistline said stick to the SnackWells (the name alone says it all). Instead, I decided to compare nutritional information:

2 SnackWells have 100 calories,  2.5g fat,  19g carbs and 1g protein

And after some simple Googling: 2 Oreos have 100 calories, 4.5g fat, 16g carbs and 1g protein

Pretty similar.

The obvious lesson is to watch your portion size — you don’t have to eat all 6 Oreos just because they package it that way. And just because something markets itself as a healthier option, doesn’t mean it’s always true. You don’t need to stop eating the things you love just because you’re trying to lose weight — just scale back on your serving size.

FYI: I ate one of each cookie — I’m an equal opportunist.
